Who We Are

CHASS consists in seven Humanities departments (Comparative Literature and Foreign Languages, English, Hispanic Studies, History, Media and Cultural Studies, Philosophy and Religious Studies, six Arts departments (Art, History of Art, Creative Writing, Dance, Music and Theatre, and seven Social Science departments (Anthropology, Economics, Ethnic Studies, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology and Women's Studies). The collection of these units within one administrative structure allows for innovative interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary curricula . At the same time, the internal organization into humanities, arts and social sciences facilitates administrative procedures that enhance research and teaching across the disciplines.

CHASS is the most diverse College at UCR, which is in turn the most diverse UC campus.
