CHASS commits itself to providing the highest quality of undergraduate and graduate education by distinguishing itself as a diverse institution which offers an array of academic programs: twenty academic departments specializing in the Humanities, Social Sciences, Arts, Business Administration, and over ten Interdisciplinary programs. In addition, CHASS houses the majority of UCR conferred degrees, and also houses the most diverse student body. Therefore, it is essential for CHASS to develop an ongoing commitment and relationship with its present and future alumni. CHASS collaboratively works with the UCR Alumni Association (UCRAA) to: promote effective communication, ongoing communication between future and present alumni, encourage alumni involvement with UCRAA, maintain alumni faculties, and to promote strength and independence of alumni programs.
The UCRAA helps to provide scholarships to incoming freshman, six in total. Through these scholarships, alumni of UCR have an impact on attracting the best and the brightest students of UCR to carry on the legacy left by UCR alumni.
The creation of the Alumni Center helps to display the achievements of past alumni, and connecting the world of current students, friends, and visitors to the "front door" of the campus.
