1–4 p.m.
Location:
California Museum of Photography
Parking Information
Description:
Daguerreotype, calotype, ambrotype, tintype - when photography was invented 170 years ago it quickly developed into a variety of competing processes, all of which were popular for portraiture. UCR/California Museum of Photography director Colin Westerbeck will sort these all out for you and show you how the tintype fits in. Also, based on the exhibit –AMERICANS by artist Keliy Anderson-Staley, visitors are invited to sit for a family portrait reminiscent of the 19th-century tintype. Families will receive one sepia toned 3 x 5 digital print. Free and open to the public!
