Wind Controlled Synthesizers: History, Current Practices and Future Uses
For this lecture/demonstration, Dr. Zebley will trace the history of wind controllers, as well as document their use throughout the music industry. He will also discuss further implications and practical applications for their use and integration into current educational practices.
Dr. Matt Zebley received his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Jazz Studies from the University of Southern California in 2010. For his doctoral thesis, he researched the intersections of music education and music technology, and studied with some of the leading wind controller performers and sound designers in the music industry, such as Bob Mintzer and Judd Miller.
