Dance master class and movement workshop in Indigenous Contemporary Dance
with choreographers Jack Gray and Rulan Tangen
Dancers of all ages and abilities welcome
The workshop will draw from DANCING EARTH and Jack Gray Dance company warm-ups and choreography, and foreground these artists' choreographic processes. Dancers interested in potentially participating in a showing of Indigenous Choreography at the Barbara and Art Culver Center of the Arts on Thursday, April 19, are particularly encouraged to attend.
Jack Gray is an independent freelance dance artist based in Auckland, New Zealand. He is currently a choreographer and dancer with Atamira Dance Company: Maori Contemporary Dance Theatre which he founded in 2000 and director of Jack Gray Dance
Rulan Tangen is internationally accomplished dance artist and choreographer, and Founding Artistic Director and choreographer of DANCING EARTH Indigenous Contemporary Dance Creations

Tangen and Gray are the second set of “Indigenous Scholars in Residence” hosted by the California Center for Native Nations in 2012
