Featuring an international roster of scholars and performers who will explore the trans-Atlantic resonance of traditional music and dance of Spain, especially the malagueña and zapateado. Varieties of these genres can be found in numerous cultural areas, among various ethnic and racial groups.  Understanding their aesthetic appeal and cultural significance will enhance our appreciation of their enduring impact on both Spain and the Americas.

Coordinated by K. Meira Goldberg, Walter A. Clark, and Antoni Pizà
