Friends and Community

Sharing a Place in the World

The College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences is proud to invite UCR’s friends and community members to become part of our family. Each unique individual adds to the experience of what it means to be human, making the world just a little smaller and less mysterious.

Our Research: What it means to you

The research conducted within CHASS centers supports the community by investigating issues that effect average people every day.

Learn more about the important research being conducted and how it applies to you.

The Impact of Giving

Put simply, gifts to the College change lives. Scholarships and fellowships help students attain an education that might be unobtainable otherwise, while gifts towards endowed chairs and research support allow UCR to continue being the premier research university in Inland Southern California.

ARTSblock: Three Premier Arts Venues in One Place

The UC Riverside ARTSblock, made up of the UCR/California Museum of Photography, the Culver Center for the Arts and the Sweeney Art Gallery, is the anchor point of a renaissance in downtown Riverside. Located on the pedestrian mall near the historic Mission Inn, the ARTSblock is a great place to experience a variety of arts.

Scenes from a Classroom

Scenes from a Classroom allows you to have a brief but intimate look at a class being offered by a department within CHASS, then to go behind the scenes with the instructor and learn what drives the instructor and motivates the students.

Featured instructors include Roger Ransom of history, Peter Graham of philosophy, Juan Felipe Hererra of creative writing and Wendy Rogers of dance.
