ARTSblock Naming Opportunities

The UCR ARTSblock is made up of the Sweeney Art Gallery, the UCR/California Museum of Photography and the Culver Center of the Arts. This project is a priority for both the campus and the community, and is a part of the revitalization of historic downtown Riverside.

The campus, in collaboration with the city of Riverside and other partners, is building the foundation for an expanded program of arts and culture that benefits the University and the southern California community.

There are many naming opportunities for the Culver Center, the UCR/California Museum of Photography and even the overall ARTSblock facility itself.

The New Barbara & Art Culver Center of the Arts Naming Opportunities

CHASS seeks $3 million for support of the Culver Center project, which includes restoration of the Rouse Building including its sky-lit atrium and construction of art studios, dance studios, a media computer room and seminar rooms. The facility will also provide much needed space for preservation of the world-famous Keystone-Mast Stereographic Collection now housed in the UCR/California Museum of Photography.

  • Atrium Performance Gallery - $1 million
    The large, unique Atrium area on the first floor is a stunning public space that will be used for performances, exhibitions and other events.
  • Film/Video Screening Room - $500,000
    This 99 seat screening room will feature independent film and showcase student work.
  • Multi-Media Computer Studio - $500,000
    The studio will support creative activity of faculty and students in the digital arts.
  • Conference Room - $250,000
    This well-appointed room will be used for meetings and scholarly activities.
  • Inter-Media Studio - $100,000
  • Administrative Offices - $50,000
  • Carpentry/Fabrication Shop - $25,000
  • Preparation/Conservation Shop - $25,000
  • Areas within the Culver Center that have already been named include:
    • The Mead & Nancy Kibbey Keystone-Mast Storage Area
    • The Don & Debbie Brithinee Dance Studio
    • The Olga Hammond Dance Studio

UCR/California Museum of Photography Naming Opportunities

The UCR/California Museum of Photography provides a cultural presence, educational resource, community center and intellectual meeting ground for the university and the general public. The museum's explorations of photographic media through exhibition, collection, publication, and the web examine the history of photography and showcase current practice in photography and related media.

  • Overall Facility Name - $5 million
  • Collection Research Room - $250,000
  • Exhibition Area - $250,000
  • Entry/Port Coche - $250,000
  • Reception/Lounge Area - $100,000
  • Media Presentation Facility/Small Conference Room - $100,000
  • Collection Administration Area - $100,000
  • Visitor Services Desk - $50,000
