A New Year Shines at Annual Staff Party
By Stephanie Wejbe, Student Intern of CHASS College Computing
The entertainment portions included performances by the Dean’s Office and Student Academic Affairs staff with a rendition of the classic song, “If I Only Had a Brain” from The Wizard of Oz using a different twist and changing the title to “If I Only Had the Time.” CHASS College Computing’s (C3) animated slideshow presentation, “You Know You’re Living in 2003 When…” brought many laughs to the crowd. Professor Walter Clark from the Music department entertained the audience with Latin guitar rhythms. In addition, the party had its own electronic New Year ball drop countdown and fireworks created by C3. Festivities also included food, goodies, and holiday games provided by the Dean’s Office and Student Academic Affairs staff. Desserts were provided by Associate Dean Rise Axelord, Bob Hanneman, and John Ashe, and the sandwiches were provided by Dean Patricia O’Brien. Dean O’Brien recognized both the efforts of those who coordinated the event and the participants who helped to ensure the success of the event, which united College staff and friends in an enjoyable end of the year experience.
