Undergraduate Research Conference at UCR

This year, UC Riverside will host the Southern California Conference on Undergraduate Research (SCCUR). The conference takes place Saturday, November 19, 2005.
SCCUR recognizes multidisciplinary, faculty-guided undergraduate research. It is a way for students from many types of institutions in the Southern California region to demonstrate their creative accomplishments either through performance, oral and poster presentations, or displays. The program supports students in all disciplines from the arts, humanities, sciences, to engineering. Projects are presented to an audience of peers, faculty and administrators.
The conference will also consist of a keynote address, faculty-led roundtable discussions, and a reception. The keynote speaker will be Tina Nova, an alumnus of UCR. She is currently president, chief executive officer, and a director of Genoptix, Inc. The conference thrives on the appreciation of undergraduate research and the importance it has on a student’s education. This is an opportunity students should take advantage of. It is a chance for them to present research they have worked diligently on.
In order to participate, students must fill out the Presentation and Abstract Submission Form, and return it no later than October 17, 2005. Students can register after their project has been accepted. The deadline for all registration is Monday, November 14, 2005; there will be no registration on-site.
