TO THE CAMPUS COMMUNITY

Dear Colleagues:

I am pleased to announce that Professor Stephen Cullenberg has agreed to serve as Acting Dean of the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences, beginning July 1. The selection of a permanent Dean cannot be announced until Regental approval is obtained.

Dr. Cullenberg is a professor of economics with research interests in economic methodology and international political economy. He first came to UCR in 1988, and is the 1997-98 recipient of the Senate's Distinguished Teaching Award. In addition, Dr. Cullenberg has been selected as a resident fellow in the Center for Ideas and Society, and as a Regents' faculty fellow. He has twice served as chair of the UCR Department of Economics. He also served as Co-chair of the Editorial Committee for the University of California Press for three years and Chair of the Academic Senate's Committee of Planning and Budget for the last two years.

I want to thank Steve for taking on this important role.

Sincerely,

France A. Cordova
