New Endowed Chair Honors Teaching Excellence

Rise Axelrod, professor of English at UCR, has been appointed as the Endowed Chair of the John Gleason McSweeney Family Chair in Rhetoric and Teaching Excellence. This is a five year appointment, which began July 1, 2006. 

Patricia McSweeny McCauley, a member of the UCR Foundation Board, endowed the John Gleason McSweeny Chair in Rhetoric to honor her first husband. The McSweeny Chair will sustain and encourage scholarly studies and research in rhetoric.
