University of California has launched a Copyright Education Web Site in late 2003 to serve as an educational resource which assembles selected systemwide and campus information and resources about academic copyright concerns. The concept for the site was initiated by the UC Standing Committee on Copyright in response to a perceived need for continuous Universitywide education on copyright. The site provides information and resources on copyright ownership, fair use, and the public domain. It is not intended to provide information about University provisions to enforce copyright laws and policies or copyright issues that are outside of the academic realm.
