The 1,200 -acre campus of UCR is located 3 miles east of the center of the Riverside City, which is a 270,000 people community. UCR is close to many excellent recreational facilities, a symphony orchestra and opera association, a community theatre, and an art center. The community is a vibrant, culturally diverse center o commerce, finance, industry, and education the Inland Empire. It has libraries, art and history museums, theatres, concert venues, a convention center, fine restaurants, quaint shops, modern and large shopping malls, and a wide variety of sports and other recreation activities that make living here comfortable and fun.
