The Department of Dance at the University of California, Riverside, presents UCR is Dancing 2007 on March 8, 9 and 10, Thursday through Saturday, at 8:00 pm in the University Theatre.

Directed by Professor Susan Rose, this annual production showcases original choreography by UCR students.  The students have been investigating dance making from a variety of perspectives in five quarters of composition classes.  Each has chosen a direction to explore and develop into a piece in this year's production.  The results are as varied as the artists and include an improvised solo, a duet on the life of Jim Morrison, a duet based on variations performed to tango music by the Lounge Lizards, and several group pieces that play between formal structures and interpersonal dynamics.

The choreographers include: Angela Robin Boisvert, Clarissa Wei-Si Chan, Ada Hill Dunne, Brianna Elisa Gonzales, Ursula Mencinci, Jennifer Marie Morin, Rosa Adela Rodriguez and Trevor Michael Schultz. Works by graduate students Megan Jenkins and Rosie Trump will also be featured.

Come celebrate the UCR Dance Department’s longest-running tradition: UCR is Dancing 2007!
