I've been accepted as a first-year student. What happens next?
MARCH
APRIL and MAY
- Come to a CHASS virtual open house in April.
- Register for Highlander Orientation in April (it takes place in July/August).
- Go to Highlander Day and special departmental events on April 15.
- Submit your statement of intent to register (SIR) by May 1.
- Apply for housing in April and by the May 10 priority deadline.
- Plan to take the Analytical Writing Placement Exam (AWPE) in May or June (if needed).
JUNE, JULY, and AUGUST
- Submit any financial aid documents by June 1.
- Wave USHIP in June (if needed).
- Send your transcripts by July 1 and any other docs/tests in by July 15.
- Take the Mathematics Advisory Exam (MAE) by July 14 (if needed).
- Come to Highlander Orientation and meet your academic advisor and register for classes in July/August.
- Submit your Statement of Legal Residence (SLR) by August 1.
- Explore student organizations and the UCR events calendar to plan some fun.
- Get your R’Card as soon as June 1 and by September 3.
SEPTEMBER
- Avoid late fees: Pay your fall fees by September 15.
- Submit your immunization records by September 25.
- The first day of the quarter is September 25. The first day of instruction is September 28.
