UC Riverside alumna Britanni Collins, who graduated with a degree in business administration, is stepping up in her new role as AP Assistant Director for Humanities and Arts. Collins has worked in education for 15 years. Following her graduation, she has had positions in HR, payroll, and academic personnel, including at the University of California, Los Angeles. Collins professed that, out of these positions, her favorite is academic personnel.

“My work is to review Senate and non-Senate academic personnel files, merit, and promotions, as well as oversee recruitment and a multitude of other academic-related items,” Collins said. “The work is similar in that I’ve been working in academic personnel for over eight years, and I’ve also worked in HR — the two fields can be similar.”

Collins was drawn to this role because of her admiration for the CHASS team, and was very excited when she saw the position open up. CHASS’ organization and the thoughtfulness of its process stood out to her. She hopes to contribute to the team as well as pilot new ideas that she has seen work effectively at other schools.

“Everyone seems like very hard workers who value their job. They value the work that comes off their desk. And I am a hard worker myself, so that made me really happy.”

Collins wants to bring her past experience and her understanding of policies and procedures. She looks forward to contributing to an already great team.

“I’m just grateful and excited to be a support to the faculty and also support to my AP team.”
